Work
Injuries
Oregon State Law requires all employers
to carry Worker’s Compensation Insurance. This
requirement protects employees from medical bills and
loss of income from temporary and/or permanent disability for
injuries sustained while on the job. The work-related activity
that caused the injury must be a major contributing factor to
the injury to be covered under the current
statutes.
Many studies have shown that
Chiropractic treatment is very effective in treating
work-related injuries. As with other musculoskeletal injuries,
the combination of Chiropractic adjustments, physiotherapy,
massage, and therapeutic exercises can speed recovery
from an injury and a fast return to work
activities.
If you have been hurt while fulfilling
your work responsibilities, tell your employer. Your
employer should file a report and inform you if
there are any restrictions on where you may receive
treatment. Next, seek appropriate evaluation and treatment for
your injuries. Injured workers are allowed to receive
treatment from a Chiropractor for treatment within 30 days
following the injury. Treatment beyond 30 days is allowed
when medically necessary and upon referral from a
medical doctor.
